Good luck everybody! I have the Lowestoft Half marathon on Sunday the 7th so will get a nice report up on here for you too! Oh and a nice pic of the bling, I might even include myself in the pic too....!
Good luck all, I’m doing Wimpole too, but the 10 miler, (final prep for the Peterborough HM on the 14th....😂) pinkaardvark will be way in front of me....but, we might manage to meet up this time.....ha ha
Sadly I won't be competing due to ongoing shin and calf issues. Not managing more than 2 runs a week at the moment. Have the town and gown 10k next week and I hope I can manage that. Good luck though 🍀😊
Thanks, that’s a shame, but this cross country/trails malarkey is pretty tough - I was talking to someone at parkrun this morning (I was marshalling) who equated that Wimpole HM to an actual 18 mile run, no wonder my joints ached at the end of it last year - I think the 10 miles will be enough.......we’re doing Town & Gown too....Ive got a bit of a sore/stiff hip....a bit of overtraining I think, as I’ve been cycling as well......so I’m planning on taking it gently.....not that I ever do anything else! 😂....then it’ll be a ‘proper’ taper back, max 5k, before the HM at Peterborough
Good luck to everyone- I’m doing the frostbite league run at St Neots on 7th Oct with my club (Cambridge & Coleridge) - first time out with the club on a ‘friendly’ run!
Slowly building up the pace this month after my first marathon. Aiming to get my first sub 60 10km by the end of the month...
Race went well today, just the heat and sprint of a start that played a role (as the start was so slow, the pace setter had to make up time and I was not going to lose that bus!
Last week Sat race 70:02 min, Wed 68:13 min and today 65:13
Once my final thesis chapter has been submitted I will post some race reports
I did my first Park Run at Gt. Denham. Felt nervous about doing it but soon got into the swing of things and managed to finish in 26th place in 22 mins 19 secs, beating my 5k PB to the bargain
