I was looking for something to help increase my distance & pace and think I’ve found it here with this friendly bunch. This is the furthest and fastest I’ve run since embarking on C25k in March this year. My next challenge is the town & gown 10k in October, where I’ll be pleased to get it done in under an hour...

Will see you there Dave. Assuming I can overcome my shin splint issues in time to actually limp through a 10k. Least it will be flat
Who were the running club?
I keep meaning to go along to my local one "fen edge runners" who cover swavesey, willingham, over etc
Great stuff! But sorry to hear about the shin splints🙁 It’s Cambridge & Coleridge based at the University Sports Ground on Wilberforce Road, which is fairly close to me. It’s definitely a step up in terms of pace but they don’t leave you on your own if you can’t keep up with the rest, which is nice. I’ll be interested to see if my pace has improved at Wimpole Park run tomorrow🤔

out afterwards. I think the previous day's 10k at race pace took more out of me than I realised.
