I've decided against the Rother Valley 10k in September (sorry Whatsapp , you are on your own). It looks lovely but it's a bit of a drive away. Instead, maybe the Leeds Castle 10k on 30 September:
It's only a couple of miles away (I could even run/walk/cycle to the start) but it's up and down the estate on grassy sections in places. They even describe it as "challenging". £20 entry seems a lot for a medal; hope there are some other rewards e.g. cake.
a) more hills than I am used to
b) could be slippery when wet (wasn't that an 80's album...I'm sure I owned it)
Any other Kent country bumpkins done it before or considering it?

Never mind Langley-Loper I'm sure will catch up on another one. That looks like a beautiful run though in the grounds of Leeds Castle (confusingly named as it in Kent). The Rother 10k was £17.00 so its not a great deal more, especially if it allows you entry into the Castle/ grounds after?
Time for some hill training by the looks of things.
I am doing the Larkfield 10k on September 16th, it willbe my first 10k ever... Its in East Malling and it seems flat-ish, which is one of the reasons I chose it (the other reasons are that it's the day before my birthday and that it coincides with the planned date of completing the bridge to 10k plan on the second attempt - I registered for a race to keep myself accountable).
Looks like we're near as I'm about 6 miles from Leeds castle - if you decide on doing the Larkfield maybe say hello on the day I will probably be the guy at the end of all faster runners!
I grew up a couple of thousand miles away - but absolutely love Kent, what a wonderful corner of this green and pleasant land Best of luck with Leeds and if you join Larkfield let me know
