Sweat ... we all do it but how do we deal with it

Not sure if this is the right place but it seemed as good a place as any.

Sweat is a fact of life ... i get it, however when i run it isn't smoke that gets in my eyes but sweat...

without looking like an eighties reject and donning a sweatband round my head or installing rain gutters over my eyes how best can i avoid this, as i seem to be unnatural in that my sweat hurts my eyes, it stings and leaves them sore for a few hours after i run, either i'm an alien xenomorph with acid instead of sweat or i'm as salty as an old sea dog

either way some advice would be appreciated... thanks, :D

I get this in the summer on runs too. It doesn't bother me afterwards, but is irritating to say-the-least during and run. I have considered cultivating bushier eyebrows, but as of yet have not found a solution.

I guess something closed off like a cap might be counterproductive, but I do see a lot of people out in visors. I guess they could work like a giant eyebrow? Personally I wear a buff like a headband, but that's not everyone's preferred aesthetic! My partner is sort of shaped like a rugby player so he makes a lot more sweat than I do when he runs, especially in this heat—he uses wrist sweatbands and also carries a little microfibre towel. It's flannel sized so tucks away neatly in his pocket, but he can absorb everything off his face if needed! I think he just wipes his brow with it automatically now, it's become a reflex.

Buffs are very now :) You wouldn't look like an eighties reject, but it would be a whole new you for sure!

I find sweat stings my eyes too, but I always run in a cap and I think it must be keeping the sweat away because I haven't ever had a problem while running...

yeh i have a small buff i use as a sweat wrist band but it isn't an official buff so i don't think the material is a wicking, must get a proper one and style it into a bandana or something :D

Sweat Seems to form on the forehead so runs into your eyes from there

I always wear a towelling wristband so I can mop up regularly. I also carry - folded underneath the wrist band - a big cotton hankie so I can mop my face and neck from time to time. a big hankie is a boon 🙂

was thinking of stuffing a hankie up my sleeve (a la my mum) but as i wear short sleeves tops wouldn't be any good lol ;), sweat band on wrist helps i have a buff-like tube thingie which i can pop on my head or round my wrist but as it isn't very big i cannot style it like a proper buff, must get one

You can wear your Buff in various ways. Buff has a back video on YouTube to show you the folds etc. 🏃‍♀️👍😃

I did buy a sweatband, an underarmour one, but even with a trendy brand logo.. I just couldn't bring myself to wear it lol. So I bought a visor (black underarmour one) and an asics running cap(very thin). The visor and cap both function as sweatbands and prevent most from getting in the eyes, they also provide shade to the face.

Wearing a visor is certainly a strong look and I think they look better on a lady than a chap but it works for me.

Lots of interesting info about sweat and sodium in this article active.com/nutrition/articl..., it seems some of use have much saltier sweat than others, probably worth giving it consideration with regards to replenishment over longer distances.

I've not tried it but have read Vaseline, smeared on eyebrows, can help (maybe make a Vaseline monobrow?). I suppose it creates a barrier and sweat goes Dow side of face?

I find wearing a cap works well. I used to use a sweatband on my wrist to mop sweat but a cap works better.

I wear a running cap, very lightweight, with a long peak - bought it to keep the rain off my face - as well as sun - but it does a pretty good job of keeping sweat out of my eyes.

Everyone’s sweat stings their eyes as it is so salty

And there are more sweat glands on the head than most other places.
