Plantar-fasciitis - Do I go for the half marathon 2nd Sept.

So I suffered plantar-fasciitis in my left foot, I have very flat feet and the soreness came in after a 10 mile run. I have been not able to run for 2 weeks and completed a 5K parkrun on Saturday with no ill effects.

I have 2 weeks left to train and I'm wondering should I do it, I know I can run 10 miles and can get in another 10 mile run. I feel positive I can do it and was training regularly before my injury and my physio believes I can from my last visit.

If you can run with no effects and the physio is happy you can then go for it. What is stopping you from trying?

Nothing, just needed a check on whether I'm being over ambitious or rational.

Carry on with your training runs and if all is well, line up at that start line! You have come this far so you have to try.

I have very flat feet as well but I have never had any pain in my feet.

I would go for it, see if you can do 10 miles and then relax and chill out.

I've had PF this year, and found it to painful after running but not during, so if you think you can stand the pain afterwards, then go for it! By the way, the best thing I found for the pain is to keep my running shoes on for a while after a run. I guess that's down to how much time you have, I normally have a couple of cups of tea while I look at my Garmin stats, and have my bath after I've cooled doan. I know that wouldn't suit everybody

Same here, painful only before and after running!
