Now all the big marathon's are out the way, whats next?

Well i would quite like to keep the fitness i have gained from my marathon to hopefully run a half in under two hours and maybe a marathon in Oct/Nov time.

But how do you keep your fitness at that marathon level? there are plenty of plans to get you there but what do you once your there!

oh and a photo of some horses from my run today, everyone likes a photo of some horses right?

Love the tags!! So- in terms of maintenance it's a tricky one. I have a very clear plan around upping my mileage and training for a sub 2 hour HM in September ( the Bristol HM). I guess it depends on what you want to do next?

pS my daughter would love that pic... Not so much me, I'm really allergic to them!!!!!!!

how do you plan on training to go for a sub 2hours HM?  I dont really have time to up my millage at the moment so no ultra's for me.

PS, never said anything about touching them!  Just look.

There are smaller local events that are well worth supporting ☺

Of course I have a small race that i am trying to enter at the moment (its not so much entering it's the babysitting, my other half works on a sunday)

I have found that my pace for 10 k's and 5k's has suffered as I have worked on endurance.  Once I get the marathon out of the way, this is what I would like to concentrate on - and to shift some of the weight I have gained 😀.

just a week before my Brighton marathon i set a new Maidstone Parkrun pb and had run 10km to get there that day which i never do.   So I dont think it effected my pace that much.

And as for shifting weight my weight has stayed the same  around 13st 6 it goes up and down a bit,  but i found i ate a lot more when training for the marathon those long runs really do make you want to eat a lot and not just the day of the long run.

When you are eating more just make sure it's healthy, she nagged  😊

It was alot of peanut and toast, i love peanut butter.

My running friend swears by it so I have started eating it.  Tahini as well.  If I feel like a treat, if I have done enough to earn it, I make an easy peasy vegan mug choc cake which has a gooey centre of peanut butter or tahini? I divvy it up between two with fresh berries and maybe a blob of creme fraiche ☺

I have never heard of Tahini i might give it ago if i see in the shop.  Sounds like you go to alot of effort with your food.  I just like sometihng simple when i walk through the door.

Simple is your fave apple, sliced, and dipped into your fave nut butter.

Tahini is sesame seed "butter" ☺

I grow my own food and am a bit evangelical about what I eat.  I used to be the opposite but saw the light 😊

I love peanut butter on an apple , oh and on a rice cake too ! I have to limit myself though with them as they are too more-ish ! :-)

My great nephew turned up with choc covered rice cakes.  Would he give me a nibble .... 😊
