I have been told the small macular hole I had has closed by consultant. He says will take some months before I can see properly again. Does anyone have similar experience to share? Slight improvement when reading large print Kindle so far - thanks

Macular hole
Hi. I've recently joined this group. I also developed a macular hole a couple of months ago. I was wondering if you've had improvement. Sorry you didn't get any replies...
I developed a macular hole in May 2024 and saw a consultant in June. By then the hole had healed itself (unusual) and he said my sight would improve in a couple of months may be by Christmas. It has improved so I can drive again but I still have some blobs in my sight. How are you?
Mine became obvious or developed in November 2024. I had another scan 18 December and it is healing. The consultant said mine was deep but very narrow and I had a 50/50 chance of it healing on its own. So pleased by that. Slight distortion but big floater and central small patch of opacity. I read the technical name of this. Will post reply when I find it. One patient took a whole year for this to disappear... I'm hopeful. The consultant said it could take months to heal completely or nearly completely. I can drive at night without an issue now as my other eye is good.Thank you for replying 🙏 Have a Happy New Year!
Hi, I was diagnosed with a Macular hole in my right eye November 2024, it was full thickness had surgery December 31st 2024, and healing well now, had a follow up consultation the day after surgery and another check 14 January 2025, the gas bubble is about half the size now and I can now see above the gas bubble ok but this will improve they said, there’s also a few tiny floaters as the bubble is breaking up, again this should disappear. Hopefully over the next 2 /3 weeks the gas bubble should be gone completely.
Hi Daffodilia
It wasn’t as bad as I expected, I bought a massage table with a hole part for you face that was cut out from EBay, also a tattooist chair that you lean over with a face part cut out also from EBay, and made them as comfortable as possible and for the first night slept face down on the massage bed. I also bought neck cushions for extra comfort for round my face, also I mentioned prior to my GP that I was having eye surgery and was anxious about it also that I was really worried about the face down, he prescribed me Sertraline which he also said would make me drowsy, I think I slept 4 hours the first night and then dozing on and off for another 4. I found the tattooist chair uncomfortable so ended up not using it, I used my settee through the following few days with my face down but tilted to the side lying on my good eye, also using plenty soft cushions round my head, it was quite comfortable and I was able to pass the time listening to audio books or music. To be fair, it went quickly, I found this much more comfortable.
