Ocular hypertension

I have ocular hypertension and narrow angles. I have had a successful iridotomy but my pressures remain between 20-30 . Never higher and never lower. My glaucoma consultant whom I saw this week is happy. My eyes are stable. Good visual fields. No optic nerve damage. I use Tiopex and Latanopost drops. I was diagnosed with AMD just over a year ago. Wet in one eye dry in the other. I have had 7 very successful injections and not needed one fir 6 months. However last time i attended the macular clinic my eyes were 26/27 on their machine and wouldn't give me an injection until I saw the glaucoma specialist. She is happy and said my pressures with GAT machine were 21/23 . She suggested adding a drop for the macular clinic but I have awful allergic reactions to most drops and am happy with the above drops. Has anyone been in this position. I am worried the macular clinic will refuse injection if I need it.

I have thick cornea and that has an effect on the reading from the puff test. Quite often when I go for my injections they tell me my pressures are high so I say my cornea are thick and they have to go to check with a doctor.

The first opthamologist I saw was horrible and said I had glaucoma and put me in drops. The next time I went I saw a consultant who said he didn’t think I had glaucoma and checked the thickness of my cornea and took me off the drops, so it is noted that my cornea are thick!

Good luck and don’t worry if they have to check with a consultant before injections

yes a thick cornea may give a higher reading than it really is. Mine is the other way round I have a thin cornea so the opposite issue.

yes I am in that position I have narrow angles myself I had a LPI ( laser peripheral iridotomy) in 2016 they are still open ( patent) but still need to take eye drops twice a day for both eyes. I have monthly injections for DMO and I go to a different eye hospital for my OH in London and they have said that I need a drop of iopodine before and after my injection so before I have the injection they put a drop in ( before I go to the clean room for the injection) and then straight after the injection.. This helps with the eye pressure. They used to give me a tablet but now they give me an eye drop hope that helps. I am seen at St Thomas’ for my OH and cataracts.
