HOW TO CONTROL ANXIETY?

I want to ask all of you, how to control anxiety/depression and loneliness when you've a retina swelling in one or both eyes. I'm facing extreme anxiety, and sleep issues, tho i just started my treatment with intrvietral injections, and as per doctor I've to wait for at least one month to see the results, but everyday i wake up in the morning, i open my eyes with fear.

Is anyone else facing the same and how did you overcome and focus on your treatments without thinking much.

Please advise.

I have numerous illnesses and could get anxious but for some reason I don’t. I just think, hey I am alive and I don’t have life threatening illnesses, life changing but not life threatening. Good luck to you

Hi I'm sorry to hear you feel like this. I did too and still get anxious . I have 2 eye conditions, one which involves drops that give me all kinds of problems and the other AMD (one wet and one dry eye). I also have injections in my only good eye. I cried for ages when my good eye was diagnosed wet. I was convinced I was going blind. I started Eyelea injections and can honestly say they made a world of difference to my sight. I hope the injections work well for you too. It takes time for the injections to work and it takes time to come to terms with any condition. Its positive.....Drs are there to help and treatments are improving. Good luck and take care.

Thanks for the positive and supportive reply. I just started my injections for both eyes. After that my confidence has built up a lil, and I'm hopeful and praying to GOD that helps me and others.

My dr said no other treatment required, injections will do their work slowly. I asked him I'm having pain in one eye(a mild in a back of eye) he says it's normal.

Good luck to you too and all other people.

I have been dealing with this exact thing for at least the past 5 year. I have a different desires called PXE but it treated the same way as Macular Degeneration as far as my eyes go. I have had 7 hemmorages and the sight is useless in my left eye now and my right is better but still is 20/200. I fall into legally blind. I live alone and no longer am able to drive. This has been one of the hardest for me. I feel cut off from the world and have no family where I live and few friends. So I totally understand the question.

It has gotten so bad at times I just didn't know why even live. What purpose do I have now. These are some of the things I have done and really are making a difference, First I am in therapy in order to talk about it and find skills to deal with the anxiety and depression. I am also on anti depression medication and just upped my dose with my Dr. talking it through with me. That has helped so much.

Then last I am an artist and just have felt stuck and not able to paint or move forward. I stopped paint all together because I could paint like I did before. So I am going back to basics and taking a drawing class for the past 4 weeks and have been doing the exercises. Having a course to follow on line with others and assignments really has helped so much.

The last thing is that people keep saying I have to get to a place of acceptance. This is what I heard every time I heard that work. That I had to just give up and settle in to being less then. Well I reframed that in my mine. Acceptance does not mean giving up. It takes courage to deal with losing your sight. So Acceptance now to me means have courage, I even put a sticky note on the wall.

I hope some of this helped in some way. I know how you are feeling for sure.

You may need to go on some medication. Also what did you love to do, before you started losing your sight.

Be kind to yourself my friend,

I pray to ALMIGHTY for the betterment of your life.

Secondly, I've started my treatment, and by the GRACE of ALMIGHTY I don't fall into extreme danger zone, but still it's blurr patch on the sides. Doctor is hopeful with the injections treatment, hopefully it'll save my sight for sure. And you also pray for me. Life is precious and eyes are the miracle of GOD.

I'm feeling a little better after the injections in my eyes, but i still need more to get the better results. I was scared of anxiety, because I'm having sleep issues , and overthinking about my sight.

ALMIGHTY CREATOR says, pray for others and ask others who are also suffering, so that's how you exchange prayers.

I pray for everyone whose suffering in eye problems. May we all get well soon. Never lose hope!! GOD is kind. ❤️

I would also like to know how you control the anxiety that comes with having dry macular degeneration as there are no treatments for dry macular degeneration. For me the only heaven sent remedy would be a treatment that would at least stabilize the condition. .

I started praying. Giving myself to GOD. Sharing my problems with HIM. And, i started doing walk, and excercise.

This at least helps me stable my condition, and focusing on treatment and believing in doctor.

I just diagnosed, that's why i was little panic, but then i talked to myself, that I've to fight with it and do a treatment, only GOD can help me and then i can help myself.

I think you have to go with anything that helps you, I have to keep busy so my mind is occupied and I do not dwell on my health.
