Disc-like "floater"?

Had an injection today with a new doctor. It was the first of a new 3-round series. Have had many in the past year and a half.

His procedure was very quick and a little more casual than the previous doctor. I was happy with it, until I was downstairs exiting the clinic. Then a black disc shape with a central hole - looking sort of like a plastic washer- appeared in my treated- eye vision. Have never experienced that before. Hard to call it a floater since it doesn't shange shape and is a solid black colour.

Hoping it is temporary and will be gone within 24hrs. If not - the "treatment" has just made my vision worse... :/

Dear lovelyRita,

It sounds as if you are experiencing air bubbles. These can get inside the vitreous jelly in your eye during an injection. They usually disappear within a few days. If they don't, then please contact the macular clinic for discussion.

Hello lovelyRita, it sounds like this is just another effect of the injection, no two injections are ever the same, I have had sometimes very large floaters, other times very tiny ones and sometimes no floaters or air bubbles at all, they normally disappear after a day or so, but of course if they persist then always sensible to check with the doctor for peace of mind. I've bee having injections for 4 years now and often get these floaters ,they don't bother me as I know they will disappear soon ,if not gone by bedtime they will be gone in morning Good luck going forward

You forgot to mention that the black discs appear at the bottom of your vision.The reason is that our eyes just contain a simple lens and the image is projected onto our retina upside down. The bubbles float to the top of our eye, but when our brains subsequently invert the image the bubbles appear to be at the bottom. There are other interesting things going on - I posted them a year or so ago. I quite enjoy the bubbles!

I enjoy them, too. I have found that they magnify things! Very slightly, but they do. In low light, they can get colored halos around them. I try to catch them, but they jump up on top of my hand like a hologram would. Of course, I can't catch something inside my eye, but it is fun to try,
