Dry AMD
Hi again Hotfudge,Sorry to hear this and empathise with your worry. I think that is the very worst thing about these eye conditions is that there is no way of knowing how they will progress, or not in my very limited knowledge anyway?
Can I ask if you are male or female and what age you first experienced your CSR?
Hi...I was 40 when I had my first CSR and I'm female. They said it is usually males who get this in highly stressed jobs!! I dont know why I kept getting it...I hope your tests are ok
Hi Hotfudge, I too am female and this appeared this year for me at age 45. I’m convinced the stresses and changes of peri menopause along with the insomnia it brought has been the contributing factor for me. I’d be keen to hear from anyone else who feels this may have been the trigger from them also. I hope you have some successful treatment and can maintain as much of your sight as possible, take care x
Thankyou for your message.. I think stress definitely is a high risk factor for CSR...but am a big coffee drinker too.I was told stress, coffee and steroids in any shape(creams) to b avoided for future episodes of CSR..were you told this too by the hospital? X
Sending you a hug. XThe macular society have a good helpline and website for info and advice but I think drymd is very slow acting. Don't think it's the same thing as CSR though which has been mentioned here???
Not to worry you more but in the spirit of being informed and empowered, you should continue to check the amsler as it is possible for drymd to turn to wet.
Thankyou for your message..my optician sent me for an emergency appointment at hospital coz he thought my AMD had turned to wet but the hospital closed coz virus..so I went to the emergency department of eye hospital but they said I didnt have wet.I had several episodes of CSR in both eyes in my 40s as well as AMD..so 2 different probs going on with my eyes..I'm literally praying for a miracle for dry AMD.....how are you doing? X
Hi. I am a 72 year old fit male. Two years ago diagnosed with dry in both eyes. No distortions to date. However last routine check up showed no actual seepage but every chance of potential seepage as ‘bumps’ pushing up more and now have an additional appointment in two weeks where subject to further scans may result in injections. I live in London and attend Moorfields at St George’s Hospital.
Hello thankyou for your message..do u think your macular degeneration has turned to the wet form and that's why u might have injections? I hope they manage to help with your condition at your scans.....do you go to Moorfields? I think it's one of the best hospitalsive heard? Best wishes
Good to hear back from you I really don’t know at this stage depends on the scans I’m not seeing any wavy lines on the grid yes as I said Moorfields St George’s how are you getting on?
I'm getting wavy lines in one eye,I'm not sure what stage that is though, its very worrying! I thought mine had turned to wet but the hospital said it hadn't.....I wish I could go to moorfields...
