I don’t know of any correlation between vertigo and macular disease. However, The Epley Maneuver - google it - helped me tremendously with vertigo. I saw a physical therapist who instructed me on how to do it. Ask your health care provider about it.

thankyou ALA LEX 101 HAVE BEEN GIVEN printed copy of exercises to move inbalance of left and right ear fluid . tried for a while don't think fluid imbalance is the problem(tried the exercises for some time. the imbalance seems to be because the brain cant keep pace with the strange shifting images it is receiving. .. comes on worse if turning head or standing after sitting or, lying down in sleep and waking again. the longer I sleep the longer lasts the dizziness.. any sudden movement of my head will cause me to overbalance. stepping off a bus I almost fall over.. did fall twice..eyes seem to cause flashes of images as My eyse shift. recently met briefly one macular person with the same condition.. specialist don't know what causes but linked to eyesight they reckon.

Dear btyauch,

Have you discussed your vertigo with your GP?

Individuals with a macular condition often report the impact that this can have on their depth perception. Could it be this that you are describing?

If you would like to discuss this further, please contact us at the Macular Society Advice and Information Service.

The Macular Society Advice and Information Service is open 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday on 0300 3030 111.

Alternately, you can contact us via:
