I had an Eylea injection a week ago as I was seeing a lot of distortion in my left eye which was my good eye and I am still seeing wavy lines and the end of text seems to dip down on the right end. Has anyone had this happen? I normally saw improvem
ent after the injections but not this time. I went back in on Wed. and they did another scan but didn't see any new fluid so not sure why this is happening. They said to wait a bit a see if it improves but this is scary. My next appt. is Nov. 25.

Afraid that's the way my vision normally is now. Lampposts, edges of software dialogues on the computer are wavy if they don't have kinks, the right-side of text comes into vision from nowhere and sometimes it's falling about all over the place, I don't see people walking towards me from the front over to the right, and, of course, colours just aren't what they used to be.
Sorry to hear you are having such a lot of distortion after your last eyelea jab. This has never happened to me but I have had very blurry sight since my last injection which was nearly four weeks ago, which isn't usual. I'm back to the clinic on Thursday so hopefully they can tell me what is causing the blurring. Things are not always straightforward after these jabs, are they .
I've never noticed any improvement after any single Injection but after about 10 injections straight lines are sufficiently straight I'm not troubled by it any more. Just keep at it.
I've been having Lucentis injections for past 2 years in my one good left eye. For a long time following injections they cleared any distortion. However, about a year ago the period between injections was extended from 8 to 10 weeks and following that I had a build up of fluid which resulted in distortion. I was put back onto 6 weeks between injections but unfortunately it didn't clear the distortion & my experience now is very similar to that of 'ironbrain' with regard to right-sided text being out of vision & then appearing. Looking at a sentence I now read across it and the words tumble in from the right. I am now back on 6 weekly intervals between injections. My opthalmologist has concluded that I benefit most from 6/8 week injections and should not go any longer than that.
Sorry to hear of your set back after experiencing some success. I just had my 3rd Eyelea injection and there’s been significant improvement from 20/200 vision to 20/80 vision in the affected eye.
It’s scary to think this progress may be temporary. I suppose our condition still needs much more research to attain sustainable improvement. I hope your next treatment has a better outcome.
I've had about a dozen Eyelea injections but despite its ability to suppress fluid gathering in the macula, there still isn't any improvement in my vision in the left eye. I recently had cataract surgery and a second Ovurdex implant (dexmathasone) into the eye. The last time I had the steroid injection it substantially reduced the fluid. Hoping it does so again. But only time will tell if the wavy lines (pretty bad at the moment) will straighten out to any extent. Realistically, I suspect that once little blind spots develop near the macula, they are unlikely to regenerate. Apparently, there is a new drug going through trials called AXT 107. It is reputed to seal the leaking blood vessels much better and one might only require an injection twice a year as opposed to every two months. Besides, one doesn't get injections every two months on the NHS. I certainly didn't.
