Helo Olive, I spend about the same time on screen daily . My daughter is a rehabilitation officer for the blind and she showed me all the things I could do on my iPad to make things easier. Most of them I don’t need ,but I know they are there , when I need them . If you contact your social work dept. They will register you and you will then be able to get in touch with your rehab worker , who has lots of helpful information and aids to help anyone who needs help. I live in Scotland and sometimes when I have my injection I am aware of those helpers asking people if they would like a visit from them . I am not sure if we have rehab. Workers in other parts of UK . I also remember 5 years ago asking my consultant if I would damage my eyes by going on my iPad for so long . He told me no if I make sure the light in the room was adequate , so no, i don’t worry about the time I spend on it daily . Hope this helps . Hope you have a healthy and happy 2019 .

Dear Olive,

Today's drugs seem to me to be very effective. They will not cure AMD but they will stop its progress in the vast majority of cases. The injections sound a lot worse than they really are - I always ask for plenty of analgesia but it is hardly necessary.

Go to your eye clinic and ask for their advice for treatment.
