Was diagnosed with wet macular degeneration, left eye, Jan. 2017. I called it the “Big Mac”. At that time left eye vision was 20:70, with approx. 1/2” dia. black jagged floater with extreme distortion.. Right eye 20:20. On Jan. 31, 2017, began 1st monthly Avastin injection, ultimately receiving 4 injections. The Avastin injections cleared the black floater, but a few gnat size floaters and distortion remained. Started first Eylea injection on June 12, 2017. As of this date May 2018, have received 5 Eylea injections. OCT reveals no fluid, but some distortion remains. However, vision greatly improved at 20:35-40. My next injection is scheduled for July.
FYI: along with the injections, now on low carb diet loosing 12# over two months, controlling pre=diabetic surgar, while reducing blood pressure. According to my nutrition reads, this is also very important to control & reverse macular degeneration.
Greatly encouraged, as it appears the progression has not only subsided, but reversed.
My sincere hope and prayer, is that my story to date, will bring encouragement to someone.
