Check with the doctor because I never waited to fly during my injections. I was afraid of the changing altitudes and if it could cause a bleed.

Hello Gort,

This is a question we are often asked on the Macular Society helpline.

We have asked several ophthalmologists and they advise that it should be safe to fly with wet AMD, but avoid flying within 48 hours of having an injection as if there are complications, (which fortunately are rare), you need to seek advice from your eye consultant.

Best wishes

My specialist says it is ok after 72 hours have passed with no problems. Best of luck.
