A Good Day (AMD)

Had a good day today. I finally went back to the hospital ophthalmology dept. to tell them of a change in my eyesight, expecting to start on injections only to find that there was hardly any change. My lack of focus in the left eye was caused by a cataract, which they are prepared to remove ASAP.

So still dry.

Good news indeed. I've had similar but from optician, no change from a year ago. I'm to see eye clinic later in the year though. After the bombshell of the original diagnosis, which was upsetting as it is for everyone, I now feel much better. I hope your news and mine goes some way to give comfort to those who have been recently diagnosed., especially as I was told my eyes could deteriorate in months.

It's always good to hear positive news. It's hard not to look on the bleak side when first diagnosed with sight problems. I have just found out today that injections which I start on Monday may improve my sight in the affected eye and the CNV won't necessarily affect the other eye.
