is laser eye surgery recommended for Amd
Hello,
I assume that you are referring to laser surgery to treat AMD?
On occasions laser surgery is still used to treat AMD, but it is now done less often and at the discretion of the ophthalmologist. The most common form of treatment now is anti-VEGF treatment in the form of an injection, Lucentis and Eylea being the current licensed drugs and Avastin the unlicensed drug. However, sometimes the ophthalmologist will decide that the most effective form of treatment under the circumstances may still be laser treatment. The treatment is only suitable for individuals with particular patterns of damage to the retina.
Kind regards,

There is no proven treatment for AMD. However, there are surgeries that can remove deposits, making the vision loss slower. Or your eyes may get a comprehensive dilated eye exam to monitor your eye condition, whether it is advancing or getting worse. In addition, researchers found out that taking supplements could also slow down the process of vision loss. It is also recommended to exercise regularly, eat a healthy diet and stop your smoking habits.
