Azathioprine dose

Hi, just wondered if anyone has any experience with azathioprine dose? I'm on 150mg but weigh 49kg ish. Is this too much? Thanks, Jenny x

Don't quote me on this - but I think the dose is 3-5mg per kilo of bodyweight per day. So your dose would be about right. Why don't you google it?

Thank you, I did Google it and it said 1to 3mg per kg per day which would have made the dose slightly too high so just wondered if anyone else had and similar experience with it x

49kilos (call it 50 for a round figure, which I expect the rheumatologist did) x 3 = 150.

Hence 150mg/day. The pills come in 25mg and 50mg? This is probably as close as they can get. Don't worry. So long as you have the enzyme TPMT (and they will have tested for this) it will be fine.
