youre an amazing mum sher, ive read your blogs and questions and feel "i know you"some are sad and others have made me giggle. your kiddies must be so proud of you. wish you all the best for 2013!
thanks caninecrazy, I'm not sure my children would agree with u much of the time though, they tend 2 think I'm a nutty, moody old cow & that's at the best of times lol! Sadly, my son is very easily led & being the only boy in the family (all his cousins r girls the poor Devil), plus the fact that he's 10, but the size of a 6 year old, he tends 2 pick friends that take advantage of him & use him as a scapegoat so I have 2 keep him on quite a tight reign (I don't look at my kids thru rose-tinted glasses & I'm a big believer in letting kids learn from there own mistakes as much as possible) as if I didn't, he'd end up in a lot of trouble. I've been pushing 4 the Doc's 2 refer him 4 the last 4 years as I'm sure he has Attention Deficit & dyslexia so that on top of the fact that he's so tiny makes him a target 4 other kids. Don't get me wrong, he can stick up 4 himself (he's quite feisty like his mum!) but if he's getting picked on by bigger kids he tends 2 lash out & that's frowned upon in school now so he gets in2 trouble :0/ My daughter (who is 8) is very tall, she is almost 5 foot already & starting puberty. She's a very sensitive girl, but also very angry at the world as she can't understand why bad things happen 2 people (she can't understand why the doctors won't give me 'new blood' 2 make me better or why they can't just get rid of my lupus) & although they've never known any different in regards 2 my lupus etc. Plus when other kids tease her saying stuff like "u're mum walks funny" & stuff like that, she gets really angry & can say some spiteful things. It's easy 2 just tell them 2 ignore what people say but it's difficult 4 kids 2 do that. The last 2 years have been hard on them as suddenly I have stopped work & have been in & out of hospital having things done, I can't chase them any more & I'm not as 'happy' & 'fun' as I was. It's horrible having 2 watch how it's affected them as they don't understand why I suddenly go off on 1 at the drop of a hat etc.
Thankfully, in that respect, things r more under control now & seem 2 b on an even keel but even though I've explained that sometimes my brain doesn't work too well cos of the lupus. It's hard 4 kids growing up without the added pressure of having 2 help take care of a parent who acts like a total stranger at times.
They'll get there in the end though bless them, especially now I'm feeling in more in control of things.
Ooh, gone off on 1 a bit there lol!
At the end of the day, I'm just trying 2 b honest with everybody. I'm determined lupus will take a back seat, once again, as it's done enough damage 2 me physically, mentally & emotionally & I'll be damned if it's going 2 mess with my kidlets any more. My eye is getting back on the ball so 2 speak now so it's time 2 take charge ;0) x
