I had to come off Azathioprine after it affected my White Cell Count. I was put on Mycophenolate (Cellcept) 2 weeks ago How long did it take for anyone else to start to see real improvement in their conditions when they went on to this medication?
Mycophenolate: I had to come off Azathioprine after... - LUPUS UK
Mycophenolate
I think about 3 and a half months, Jinty. It's the nicest lupus drug I've had so far (but not without some side effects even so) and I wish you luck with it.
Hi, I started mycophenolate in March this year after a really bad health scare. I've settled on it well, it only took a few months to kick in and not long after taking it my hair stopped falling out and it has now all grown back! Angela xx
Angela - I hope that happens to me (about the hair)! Mine survived cyclophosphamide fine, but the mycophenolate seems to have done for it. Still in the scale of things, horrid hair is a small problem.
Thanks for taking the time to reply. I am going back to work tomorrow (no options unfortunately) so I am clutching at straws for hope. Most of what I have read about Mycophenolate has been positive & we all know there will always be side effects but the cure is preferable to no alternative at all. My hair loss has noticeably slowed in the 5 weeks since I took Azathioprine so that is one blessing. xxx
