Rest when you need to. Eat a healthy, balanced, nutritious diet including plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables - organic if you can afford it. Keep your mind active and try to distract yourself with matters other than your health (the internet and a laptop are brilliant for this). Have someone (or a pet) to love, find something to do within your capabilities and make sure you always have something to look forward to :)

Ask me when I'm old....?

Seriously though - you have lupus, but don't let it have you. Just get on with your life and do the stuff you can do when you are well enough to do it. At the end of every day - be pleased with yourself for the stuff you managed to do. There is always another day to do the things you didn't manage. Try hard, but don't beat yourself up when you fail.

:)

I'd pretty much agree with Maggie (unless I'm having a day where I'm feeling extra specially crap & cursing everything & any1). I tend 2 just take every day as it comes & try & laugh (or at least smile) every day. Hard sometimes I know :0/

I agree with the other comments, enjoy the days when you feel able to do things, recognise when you need to rest, keep your brain active read, do jigsaws surf the internet, get out and enjoy the fresh air when you are able and always manage to smile or laugh

I agree with all the others, a few more join your local 50+ club there are in most cities and villages. Ask at your library for information, they normally have notices of All clubs activities, from walking, swimming, bingo(Naaa!) But plenty go to ours just for a natter with people there age and Most places you can get transport supplied. Ours is not a big village, but if you look you will find others the same and last but not least, swimming. You would be surprised just how many friends I have made over the years, pools have other things going on, from excersice classes (the sit down one) , Gym, Aquacise and Aquajog. I do the Aquajog as it is not weight bearing (you wear a float). And the BEST Jennyhe got it spot on LAUGH - if it is only at yourself trying to get out of bed on a bad morning- when I am really bad, I look in the mirror and say "God, but you are ugly - Good job you have a great body NOT" You just have to laugh. A group of friends have a Joke club. we send each other joke e.mails and the circle is getting bigger. we all NEED a Laugh a day - bugger apples, throw them at the bad doctors!! Good luck my friend, from a young at heart 65 year old with Loads of 'Laughter Lines'!xx

I love all your answers!! Hahaha!

- hazelHollingsworth: "Good job you have a great body NOT" In bad days after gym is exactly what's on my mind! hahaha so stupid... that later on I am laughing at me!

I think that laughing is the most important to go on with it, sometimes especially in very bad days within the whole tragedy of my condition I am starting to laugh with the whole situation.

I am extremely careful with my diet and I am trying to go at the gym at least 3 times a week (when I can), but yes LAUGH is No.1 :)))

Thank you all! Your advises are precious!

Hugs and kisses xxx

T'ai Chi, walking the dogs, looking for the beauty in everything. Laughing a lot. Celebrating every tiny victory over this horrid illness. Accepting the things we cannot change or do. Eating well -cooking , carrying choclate when out. Use a good moisturizer every day. And Aloe vero juice freshly squeezed out of the leaf and sqidged into my face as a moisturizer.

Enjoy life, such as it is.
