The way you access free COVID-19 testing is changing in England and Northern Ireland.

If you are eligible for COVID-19 treatments, you can get free lateral flow tests to test for COVID-19. The way you access these is changing in England and Northern Ireland. You can no longer order them online and you must go to a pharmacy for them. It is not clear if the system is also changing in Wales or Scotland.

You can find out more about how to access free tests in each of the nations of the UK in our article here: lupusuk.org.uk/changes-to-t...

I'm housebound because of photosensitivity, that's going to be a problem for me.

Hi happytulip

I'm sorry this change is going to make things more difficult for you. If you don't have someone who can collect them for you, it would be worth talking to your local pharmacy to find out if they will deliver your tests, especially if they're already delivering any prescriptions for you. Pharmacies who sign up to provide the free tests do not have to provide delivery as part of the requirements, but they are allowed to if this is something they can do or want to do, if that makes sense.

If you have any difficulties when you next come to order tests, please feel free to send me an email on debbie@lupusuk.org.uk and I can let you know if there is any updated advice, and pass on information about problems people are having next time we have a meeting with NHS officials.

Take care

Debbie
