I have posted a few times on here I go to doctors today. To see if I can get to see a knee man and pay private,I can't go on verry longer with this knee twisting and getting me inside that ankle. X-rays have shown up nothing in atheritus they say.Do anyone know when you have a bad knee and ankle on the left wether the groin and hip on the right hurt and bones in feet hurt?

I am also getting sore lumps on my dips and pips fingers not sore but can see inflamation.

I think since I had COVID my immune system has gone mad.

7 months of exercise has only produced tingling feet and more soreness after walking..

And nothing showing in bloods.

Thanks for any replies

Sorry I have no advice for bad knee and the pain associated with it. Could your gp refer you to physio? That might be a way forward.

Hope you get some answers x

hi minka, how did you get on at doctors? Any good advice?

All my pain problems seem to be nerves being compressed in certain areas and no ‘fluid’ in spine causing vertebrae’s to rub together. I’m learning which exercise/stretch to do to help relief the pain. Not always easy but have to keep going , I just rest when it gets too much.

Paracetamol and pregabapentin help deaden things, I also use hand and ankle splints occasionally. There’s some good knees splints on the market too. I’ve also in the past had sports tape put on ankle/leg which helped.

I was told if pain in hip or one side of body, it could be your position is compensating for bad side and so you need to reposition posture. Hope that makes sense.

Hope you got some good advice too

hi chris21 got to pick up refer letter when done and send to private consultant. nhs 7 months of physio getting worse now and see a woman to see whether i can see a knee man. yes i must be compensating to better leg i try not to but after about 20 steps I'm back again.

gets me in the ankle as my knee is twisting and ive got some inflammation in my hands. dips and pips. I've also go orthotics in my shoes.

the splints for ankle n lower leg I got from podiatry years ago as the made to fit ones for shoes. Unfortunately these days you have to pay for everything. I’m waiting for hand therapy, not sure what to expect. But hoping for some guidance on correct compression gloves/splints as I’ve spent on various ones and none any good so far. I’m fed up dropping things

Have you tried compression stockings? I wonder if that would help stop knee twisting and support ankle.

Hope you done have to wait too long for appt.

If I hold the leg below the knee the ankle doesn't seem to twist. Weird. But I can tell their is something inside that knee that feels like a boil or something on the ligamentThen I can get a thumping in the foot. I did a 1.5 mile this morning and just took the aches and pains now I'm paying tonight with other leg hip and groin areas. Along with hands. What has hands got to do with it. I've been here 5 times now. Then got remission with 2 knee opps.which where make do ones. This time I can't walk my way through it like before.

1.5 miles is good! I know you used to walk a lot more but I think we have to accept the ‘old’ us can’t do lots as before.

Is it possible that when you had your ops a bit of knobbly bone is sticking out and what you can feel? I’ve not had any ops yet 🤞 that’s the last resort for me. I manage roughly 1.5 miles on a good day before my back starts to hurt.

Hi Chris. No everything after the microfracture of the knee was perfect. And yes it does get u in the back when compensating because your body is trying to keep vertical. If you look upi microfracture of knee it last 2 to 5 years depending on age. I'm 72 .Now the weather is cooling down I can feel my opposite hip and back having a moan at me along with feet. You just feel you can't win and want to lie down on a bed don't know whether you get this. Why have you not had a referral for you knees. Doesn't hurt to find options. I've not had a call yet to pick up a referral letter from yesterday. She did not want me to go private.

hi minka, I’ve probably never been referred for knee surgery as I’ve never mentioned my knees 😂 I’ve had to deal with lymphoedema from a very young age (now 67) and hypermobility so when problems occur in my legs/ankles I don’t tend to think outside the box and always associate problems with those diagnosis. Last time I mentioned pain in my knee, it was assumed to be fluid. A few days later I twisted awkwardly and my knee was better, so guess it wasn’t fluid.

The one thing I hate the most is when you’re told….we’ll at your age you have to expect these things! And then you hear of people in their 90 still doing yoga and running 😁 still we mustn’t grumble too much, we’re still breathing 😉

I’m glad you have a referral for nhs, private docs are the same doctors just charge a lot for appointments.

hi Minka, how you doing today? Think I’ve overdone things last few days. Back, legs and ankles screaming at me. So think today will be a pottering about day, just to keep things from stiffening up.

Hi Chris did a walk to shop. Had a potter about. Now I'm stiffening up Chris. I got my stuff from. Doc and sent it yesterday. Waiting Private appointment. 200 quid. My hip is hurting on opposite side to bad leg and the knee is still twisting in. And the old feet feel awful on bottom . You tried rolling you foot on a tennis ball that helps a lot under foot. And back mussels ache a bit. You just can't win can you. The stuff from docs was a big microfractured nearly an 1 inch square. But I had no problems when I pulled it back. Take it easy today Chris you only got so much energy to use I find
