For those with lupus taking hydroxyc. who also have Raynaud's as a symptom: has being on hydroxychloroquine helped with the Raynaud's? If so, to what extent? Has it got rid of it completely or reduced it?

I’m on hydroxychloroquine and doesn’t help my raynaulds I get chilblains regularly… warm wool gloves help me in winter and I have fleece lined boots too. I have given up with sandals even in summer or bare foot
My answer is yes it helped me in fact hydroxy stabilised SLE for me.
Cold white frozen fingers and toes had been a problem since childhood but I wasn't diagnosed with SLE until 2005 and the rheumatologist prescribed hydroxy (plaquenil) straight away. Gradually my hair stopped falling out, the fatigue became less, the drug helped a lot with other symptoms and now frozen fingers and toes are a thing of the past...
Best wishes for your sister, I hope she benefits too xxx
Hydroxy doesnt help w Raynauds. Thi ga like nitroglycerin gel specially formulated for Raynauds do ( it is 10 times milder than what people usually ise this medication for)
hi, I also take Nifedipine for my Reynaud's, it helps enormously xx
I've now been on hydroxychloroquine for 12 years. I used to get Raynauds, but haven't done for the last few years, so it might be due to hydroxychloroquine. My livedo reticularis and hay fever are also much improved, so it might have helped with those as well. Nobody knows exactly how it works - but personally I think it inhibits our immune systems overreacting to cold or pollen or whatever.
Not for me. My Lupus is well controlled but the Raynaud's persists. I hate that the summer is nearly over. Good luck
Interesting how some have benefited and some not.
Hi, it has not helped my raynauds in anyway. 🤦🏻♀️
