I am really suffering and so fed up of waking up to face yet another day of feeling so rubbish. I didn’t develop hay fever until last year and it is ruining my life. I have even taken today off of work. I have never lost a days work even when lupus bad. I am thinking of coming off of my hydroxy i am certain the allergies only started since I’ve been taking this. Saw GP today who said it was my body and whilst he didn’t recommend I stop meds he can’t stop me. He has sent another rheumatology letter off as been waiting a year for an appointment. Has anyone else had experience with this?

Hi, this is so interesting, I started on HC last November and for the first time ever I’ve been suffering with hay fever, never thought about it being because of HC but now I’m wondering, I’ll mention it to rheumatologist at next appointment, whenever that may be!

I used to have horrendous hay fever so I certainly sympathise. However, mine has now stopped completely and I always think that's due to taking hydroxychloroquine - I've been on it 12 years.(Although I've also read that hay fever can get better with age!).

Steroid nasal sprays taken regularly used to work best for me.
