Covid treatment

So the NHS have announced certain groups will be offered covid treatment within 24 hours of a positive PCR.

The list of criteria mentions "a condition or treatment that makes you more likely to get infections" - I assume this would be anyone who has received a 3rd primary dose due to being immunocompromised?

Does anyone know anything more specific about this?

I thought we were going to be able to keep antiviral meds at home so we could take them straight away?

Surely one must be positive for covid first?

Yeah, you have to test positive (PCR not LFT) before you'll be offered treatment.

My sister is on chemo so has been told she would get the anti viral treatment. I am presuming it will be those classed as clinically extremely vulnerable in first lockdown.

No need for antiviral covid treatment if you’re not positive for covid!🧐I’m taking enough pills for lupus already.

Hi Eescvc

We are expecting updates to come through as the Government and NHS work to fine tune the process, but you can find what we know currently here:

I hope you find the above helpful but if I can help further, please let me know.

Kind regards

Thank you. Very useful.

I have now received an email saying I am eligible and that I will be sent a PCR soon.
