Mycophenolate increase

Hi everyone,

My rheumatologist has asked me to increase my Mycophenolate from 2 tablets a day to 3 tablets daily (500mg each). I’m not sure if I should add the extra tablet to my morning dose or nighttime one. What are you doing?

Also, does it weaken your immune system to be on more tablets?

Thanks xx

Hi. I was on 3 now on 4.

You'll take 2 in the morning and one in the evening.

All the best x

Good question, as I increasing mine to 4 a day, just working from 3 now.Was wondering too. I been experimenting as I been having battling waves of nausea and tiredness, etc. ,etc. So I took one in the morning and two in the evening which actually helped me sleep, now spreading it out during the day to see if this with food is easier on my system until it's use to the increase....

So interested in hearing others advice & of course the local pharmacy can advice....

Our immunity is compromised, the blood monitoring will help to identify if it's causing a severe problem wbc etc. Some folks here are on even larger doses & combis if that is any help. We should (according to my surgeon) still be cautious when out & about to avoid covid etc.

Research is being done currently (here, usa, etc) on immune compromised folks to see if the vaccination is helping us & to what percentage. ml🙂

I was in 4, now on 6. I take 3 in the morning and 3 at night. I tended to increase my dose in the mornings rather than nights for some reason - mainly because I have a lot of abdominal issues and didn’t want to make them worse. I am quite dizzy, and very tired but not sure if this is from taking max Mycophenolate or from life or autoimmune fatigue

Hi there, I was on 3 in the morning snd 3 of an evening but had to reduce to 2 of a morning and 3 of an evening because of upset stomach.

I tolerate this dose absolutely fine, however I am still totally exhausted and still have a lot of pain but they have helped with pleurisy, joint swelling, rashes, ulcers on fingers and toes, hair loss….. the list is endless. They are well worth persevering with x
