Yellow vision in the mornings

Hi

I have been treating my dry eyes as directed by my optician, had otc scan to check the retina which is normal. I am sensitive to bright light as result of dry eyes but recently I have been seeing yellow (colour disorder) in my vision in the mornings but only for a few seconds

I haven't started taking hydroxychloriquine yet because I know they have side effects affecting the eyes but the optician advised my retina is healthy so I can start the drug and recommends I start the drug because lupus can affect the eyes.

Has anyone else had this colour vision problem in the mornings please? This is bought on the onset of looking at bright light first thing in the morning (symptom of dry eye)

Thanks

My eyes are awful in sunlight . My vision is so misty. Some days worse than others . I really need to get checked , got to be honest I am worried as been too scared to drive with it. Last time I was checked was told I have very dry eyes. Can’t say I get that in the morning though. Just hoping if it is light sensitivity they can give me better sun glasses to help .

I have been told by opticians that light sensitivity is bought on by dry eyes. I get dry eyes mainly overnight and then find it hard to open them in the mornings.

I also have cataract but its tiny so shouldn't cause me any problems till they get bigger. The misty vision you have sounds like cataract or dry eyes. I hope you do find time to see the optician. You are in the best care and help you treat your eyes.

Sounds like you have very dry eyes. Optician should explain whats causing your eyes to dry up and provide eye drops. Mine was caused by blocked glands on the eyelids so oils are not released causing tears to evaporate quickly. I finally found drops that work for my eyes (i have used several brands and different types) and now use hycosan sheild. And 'optase eyelid cleansing' has made a big difference together with heat mask.

I have dry eyes because of sjogrens, and very bad photophobia because of migraines, so I can understand how difficult to manage it can be. This video by Dr Elizabeth Price is excellent on practical ways to manage the dryness youtube.com/watch?v=dbRbWie... . Hope it helps!
