LUPUS UK has been in discussions about a possible project to create a new educational resource for lupus patients who may face difficulty with outpatient appointments. We are seeking some anonymous case studies that may be used as part of a research project proposal.
The aim of the educational resource is to provide information and tips on how to prepare for an upcoming appointment, by covering questions and addressing thoughts patients may have before attending their outpatient appointment.
To gather a sense of what topics to include in the educational resource, we would like to hear from you about your past and present experiences of outpatient appointments.
Please find below a few points which you may wish to cover:
· Duration of appointments
· Do you feel listened to and supported during your appointment?
· Do you prepare beforehand for an upcoming appointment? For example, writing a list of your symptoms you wish to discuss with your doctor.
· Do you forget certain topics you may want to discuss with your doctor due to symptoms such as brain fog?
· Do you experience any anxiousness before, during or after your appointment?
All feedback will be anonymised.
Please send your experiences to chanpreet@lupusuk.org.uk. The deadline is 1st June 2021.
