Hi Margaret,

I am currently taking Rivaroxaban for a blood clot, and although I do not have a definite diagnosis for lupus (currently seeing a rheumatologist about my symptoms) I have been getting chest pains and and recently headaches since the clot was diagnosed. doctors do not think the blood thinner is the cause, but interesting to see you have asked this question on this forum.

Have you had any adverse reactions at all.

Yes. I started feeling extremely unwell 2/3 weeks after I started taking it. I couldn’t function properly. No-one would listen. Managed to get taken off it onto Warfarin 18 months later. Following a cell cycle I felt much better but now cannot shake off the lupus I am left with. GP told me more than a year later that he had a notification saying that Lupus patients shouldn’t be given Rivaroxaban. Still trying to find this document.

That is interesting to hear Margaret. If you do find the document, would be grateful if you wouldn’t mind posting a link to it on here.

If you don’t mind me asking, what are your symptoms of Lupus- do you get chest pain, headaches, some joint pain? That is what I have been experiencing.

Sorry Margaret,

Just realised you had already replied to my post about Lupus symptoms.
