Antidepressants: Hi is anybody taking... - LUPUS UK
Antidepressants
Yes daffodil I am.i was put on citalopram when my partner died in an rta in 09 which was before I was diagnosed with lupus.i have been taking mmf for 15 months now and the citalopram has remained at the same dose of 30mgs x
I have Only been on mff for 4 weeks and I have been suffering with depression for a while and I am scared of taking other tablets with them , thanks for replying .
You got a few more weeks before the mmf will start to kick in.i would be careful with otc meds like st John's wort but if your dr or consultant wants to prescribe them then it should be safe.depression and chronic illness go together so please dont let it get out of control .I take alot of drugs and they all will of been checked against each other for any contraindications.you could well be on mmf for quite sometime (my mmf treatment plan is 4 yrs) and that's a long time to go without help for your depression x
P.s dont forget you are not supposed to change mmf brands.they changed mine as my brand is out of production but it didnt go well x
Not currently but I have done in the past. If you're concerned then definitely check with your GP and/or pharmacist. They should be able to advise of any possible interactions, but most are fairly safe with mychophenolate. Anti depressants did not work for me, but equally there were no adverse effects. All the best x
