Methylprednisone

Hi guys, my sister have completed her 3 dose of methylprednisone. We never see changes, she still acts differently, never answers questions and her max sleep is 2hrs and that was 2days ago. She's only 14, anyone have thoughts about the effect of meth? BTW she's having a diarrhea

Hi Anjilyne, Insomnia and diarrhea are side effects of starting prednisone. Tell her to stick with it and it should get better. If it doesn’t get better within a day or two or if she has severe diarrhea she should call her doctor or go to emergency. I hope this helps a little. Hi, prednisone can cause a large verity of side effects, many of which I have experienced every time I am placed on it. In my opinion it is a very needed and the first go to drug prescribed by Drs. Symptoms can range from what you are describing, to these I list, trouble talking, sleep interruption, mood changes, trouble breathing, rashes, twitches, swelling of legs, arms, legs, nausea, headache, appetite changes, shaking, increases in activities, diarrhea, and so on. But, your Dr. Placed her on this because the need outweighed the risk. Write down all the things you notice about your dear sister, and document everything for her Dr. Take pictures if you see any symptoms too. I would monitor her very carefully, and call her Dr soon. It does take many days to a just to this medication. She is very fortunate to have loved ones like you who care for her, and can inform yourselves to better help her. Hi thestorm, she's out in the hospital now with NGT...right now she's not talking and just stare at us... Thank you so much for the support it gives me so much power to look in the brighter side.

Hi Anjlyne, I am so sorry to hear of your sisters condition, First I am praying that the Hospital finds out why she is in this state? Was she alert before all of this??? They placed a NGT in her because she is not eating, or what. This sounds like a trans state of being. Know you are not alone, and all of us here in the hub wish you the best, stay strong, ask lots of questions, keep the faith, and keep us posted about your dear little lamb sister.
