Seeing a rheumatologist finally.

Hello everyone for those that have followed some of my posts I am going to see Dr Ellie Korenowych on Thursday privately in Bath as the waiting list was too long on the NHS.

As you all know been having a hard time of it over the past few months and continue to suffer. Currently got peripheral neuropathy in my feet and fingertips. Also my poor eyes are playing me up. I have developed horrible lumps on my face which are not very nice and wondered if they were lupus related.

If any of you have seen Dr Korenowych do you have any idea what I am going to expect from the consultation.

I am very nervous and just want answers to my troubles. Please keep me in mind on Thursday. Lucy xx

Hi Lucy! Use your nervous energy to write up everything you want to know and get out of the consultation!👩🏻‍💻👩🏻‍🎓

I went to my first appt unprepared, so it was frightening being sent for a chest x-ray straight away, and the questions the Rheum asked seemed random: rash? hair loss? joint pain? mouth ulcers? nose ulcers? migraines?

Be thinking of you Thursday, be strong 💪 xxx

Thank you. Not my first time seeing a rheumatologist but first time that I will be seeing someone who hopefully understands. Xx

I got on really well. It was such a relief to have finally found someone who would listen.

The Dr told me that all the symptoms I have been having are Lupus. She is going to start me on a low dose Methotrexate to dampen down the inflammation.

I am also going to have nerve conduction tests on my hands and feet.

I will next see her on the NHS at the specialised hospital in Bath. She was very thorough and gave me an examination. All of my joints were very sore even the small bones in my chest.

I am very glad I found her.
