Soft tissue issues
Hi sheole,
I’ve had some pain relief from using a tens machine in the past.
I have also used ice to reduce inflammation, and heat to soothe.
The power of resting shouldn’t be underestimated either - but if you are anything g like me that’s easier said than done!! I try to go for a gentle, flat, regular surface walk once a day once I’m feeling like I can cope with it-just to keep myself going!! I think it helps with the endorphins also which help mood and also pain.
When you ache, if you have family let them do the rushing and running around-don’t be a hero, it’ll just put you out of service even longer! As you can imagine my kids and hubby dread it when I ache!!!
I have come across individuals that have felt the benefit from acupuncture, so they might be worth looking into?
I know that you probably aren’t in the right place at the moment but I find that distraction therapy also help me-my passion is art and I can get so engrossed in it that I almost don’t feel the pain- I know that sounds weird but it’s true!
I think others get similar relief from their passions be it art, music, exercise, meditation, mindfulness etc. I think in needs to be something you are interested in though for it to work.
I take some supplements to help minimise joint pain on a daily basis-I’m not sure if these work but at least it feels as if I’m trying to be proactive!
I’d talk to your gp about any other pain relief options also. There are a group of medication that work on nerves eg amitriptyline that you may be able to have-I don’t know got certain if you can but it’s worth an ask! When you visit go you could ask about supplements, tens, acupuncture etc as possible other ideas just to be on the safe side.

Hi I swim and find this helps. But if you can't swim find a way of exercising that suits who. First of all you may find you ache more but in time will feel better. I am sure you doctor will give you the best advice as I do not know how mobile you are. Good luck
Hi - there is a topical gel or spray called Deep Freeze (bliss in this heatwave) I also use Olbas Oil - rub in circular motion around painful area. Turmeric I have taken for years - small dose every day (check with Doc) soon builds up as it is a natural anti inflammatory. I take a Co coda-mol (not anti inflammatory) if pain is bad then put on one of the gels and REST until you feel it all begin to work - and it will at least ease it off to a bearable level.
Good luck
