Hi please can anyone help me before I go mad. A doctor at work says I may have lupus after lots of different out breaks I have. I won't list them all but the itchy palms arms ECT drive me mad. I also break out in blisters hit r so big with swollen joints. I'm in so much pain n all I get of the doctors is o gosh hit looks painful.
I quickly go in mad to the point if I have a flare up I can't wash r dress myself.
I.ve been referred to a skin sp.but hold out no hope. I'm so tired it's unreal. I can wake up n still want to go to bed. I have to make myself do things. But end up Ill in the process. I thought the burning was in my head but now I get the blisters I know it's not. Please someone talk to me

That looks painful. We can't offer any diagnoses here, but personally, I would make sure that you have an auto-immune cause excluded - a lot of conditions like lupus can result in skin lesions. You might need a rheumatology referral, but if you already have a referral to dermatology there's no reason why they shouldn't make sure you have some of the relevant blood tests done.
It might help if you have a read of the LupusUK leaflets here - they may help you ask the right kind of questions. This one tells you about how auto-immune conditions are diagnosed lupusuk.org.uk/wp-content/u...
Those DO look painful. And I suffer with itch, particularly palms, and know exactly how maddening that is. Since your GP has suggested Lupus, has he run the ANA blood test? A dermatologist is definitely someone you need. They do look at more than just skin reactions. They will pay attention to systemic reasons for skin reactions, but you'd need some blood tests done beforehand. The ANA results can take a month to come back and are commonly ordered by your GP. If you are positive for that, you would likely get a referral to a Rheumatologist at that point and s/he would be the one to lead your treatment. Your dermatologist would then work with your Rheumy. If you are negative, the dermatologist is still a good start. But you clearly need some questions answered! That must be terrible to live with. I really feel for you. And fatigue (which is just the worst) seems to be all part of the bigger picture. You really could do with some treatment pronto. If you've not had the Anti-nuclear Antibody testing, perhaps you could go back to your gp and request this so it's underway?
Wishing you relief and some hope here. We all understand and feel for your plight.
Welcome to the LUPUS UK HealthUnlocked Community. I am sorry to hear that you're experiencing a lot of pain at the moment. Do you know how soon your appointment with the dermatologist will be?
Joint/muscles aches and pains, extreme fatigue and skin involvement are all common symptoms associated with lupus. I encourage you to get tested for lupus as soon as possible (disease activity is higher in the body when experiencing a flare of symptoms). To find out what tests and criteria are needed in order to make a diagnosis of lupus, read our article at lupusuk.org.uk/getting-diag...
Sometimes certain situations can be tough which is why talking to someone can help reduce any worries or anxiety you may have. If you would like someone to speak to, I can provide you with LUPUS UK contacts who you can chat with over the telephone. These contacts are volunteers who mostly have lupus themselves; they are not medically trained but are there to offer support and understanding. If you would like a contact to speak to, you can email me at chanpreet@lupusuk.org.uk
Please let us know how you get on, wishing you all the best.
