For the past few months, everytime I shower I notice a tingling feeling on top of my feet that feels JUST like fire ants are biting me. I notice a little redness afterwards, but that could be from the warm water. It's painful at times, and I can't figure out why it's happening. Help please!

Hi, before i was put on Hydroxychloroquine i had terrible burning on the soles of my feet and itching all over and hair loss. i am not saying it suits everyone and it has taken since July last year to really show consistant results but hell i feel so much better. I went to visit my Mum and forgot to take my medication with me for the week and was climbing the walls with itching, the pharmacist hadnt got the drug in stock and it would have taken as long as my visit to get it so i battled on. I have a first class Rhemumy and he gets things done for me, perhaps you could enquire at your next appointment.
I have this too. My toes turn bright red, then a yellowish white. They burn and itch badly after. The only thing I find is to get them dry as fast as possible and smother them in a thick cream. Do this again an hour later and don't scratch and they seem to calm down. It isn't like my usual dry skin or Raynaud's,

The top of your feet has a lot of blood supply so heats up quickly and almost all the water in the shower falls onto that area too.
That area can also get quite dry - and often if you dry your feet quickly and use a moisturising cream it takes the sting out (literally!). Another possible aid is to use something like the Doublebase or Diprobase products when showering - they are called emollients and don't dry the skin. It works for some people.
