My legs are excruciatingly painful tonight and nothing is touching it. Getting fed up with my symptoms changing, getting worse and new ones coming up. 😖😔

Excruciating pain
Hi, I too have experienced really painful legs especially at night, I take pregabalin for nerve pain this helps, but sometimes I have to use a muscle rub too like biofreeze or deep heat.
You have my sympathy.
I also have suffered with pains in my legs for a few years now, trying physiotherapy exercises to help but with no joy, trying different kinds of meds to see which would work, again with no joy. The pain would be so bad also worse at night ( this is due to the mind not being occupied so therefore focusing on the pain ) that I went back to my doctors and told them that the pain was so bad that I wanted to chop my legs off, he then decided to try me on Gabapentin which he couldn't understand why I hadn't been put on it before but I had been previously told that I had tried something from each group of medicines and I either had to put up with the pain or the side effects, so I opted pain. Trying Gabapentin......which finally helped......yay......it just then takes a while to get the dosage right but wow what a difference I still have some twinges now and again more so when I have a flare up so I usually just increase the dose slightly to which I discuss with my doctor regularly.
It may take a while to find what works for you and what dose but I'm sure you'll get there. It certainly helps if you have a good doctor that understands Lupus a little more and one that you can stick to rather than different doctors all the time. Good luck and I hope you get some relief soon. A good soak in a hot bath with Epsom salts is good too. xxx
I have periods of horrible leg pain - mainly nerve related but I was previously diagnosed with RA and pain in knees, ankles and feet can be awful. I’ve not tolerated pain meds at all well but have recently been prescribed Pregabalin - not started yet because I prefer to manage with paracetamol and the odd Naproxen .
It is sure difficult to function, I have a 5 & 6 year old and I hate not being able to do things with them. I feel I let them down even more so when I’m in a flare. Xx
I take oromorph, amytriptlyn and i place a hot water bottle on them. That enables me sleep.
