Just read this on FB, well done, so informative.xx
Hi very informative if your in a job but Doesn’t really cover self employed, I’m in and a partnership, just the pair of running a shop. So no HR etc, no sick pay, no staff. Is there any information? I’ve looked in to access to work a bit but any more info would help. Luckily I’ve just been given a blue badge so makes getting to work easier saves over a hour a day. I worry about what will happen, if I’m not at shop = no income, I’ve worked through some really rough days.
Hi Gizmok9 ,
Thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately I didn't really have any input from people who are self-employed which made it more difficult to include advice.
Have you had a look at our booklet, 'I Want to Work - A self-help guide for people with lupus'? It includes a lot more information than the blog article and has some helpful contacts listed - lupusuk.org.uk/working-with...
I would probably recommend speaking to a Disability Employment Adviser (DEA) through your local Jobcentre Plus. They can provide specialist support and advice as well as putting you in touch with Access to Work.
