I was diagnosed with discoid lupus 12 months ago, although I have seen my consultant 3 times since the diagnosis, I am suffering with lethargy, aches, general un wellness, I am 30 years old and know the tiredness I feel is not normal. I have explained this to the doctor many times and now starting to think it’s all in my head (maybe it is)

Hi Chloe - also have discoid and suffer fatigue and feeling run down but no doctor will acknowledge this and it's true that you end up feeling its in your head. I'm afraid I can't suggest anything helpful but wanted to say you're not alone and it's not in your head! At the end of the day, listen to your body and give yourself permission to feel fatigued and rest up accordingly. All the best x
Hey Chloe, sorry to hear your not being listened to, Fatigue is one of the symptoms of Lupus i would ask to get your Vita D levels checked to, as this is common for Lupus sufferers. Its hard living in a body thats trying to destroy you from the inside out. So if all you did that day is breathe... well done! Your allowed to rest, take plenty of it and take care of yourself ♡. I have quite servere fatigue, i would suggest speaking to your Rhumethologist about it he should he able to advise you further x
Hi chloelm23 ,
Who do you currently see as a consultant; Do you see a dermatologist or a rheumatologist?
Are you on any treatment for lupus at the moment?
In most cases people with discoid lupus will have symptoms affecting just the skin and hair, but in around 5-10% of cases it is possible they may develop more generalised symptoms like in SLE. Fatigue is a very common symptom for people with lupus which you can read more about and get tips for managing in our blog article here - lupusuk.org.uk/managing-fat...
