Shifting pain !!πŸ™„

I had 4 facet joint injections last Friday week and so far i can get out of the chair without much pain so great progress !! As always there is a but !! I now feel pain in other areas that were overshadowed by the pain in my back . I was with the gp this morning as i have been having pain in sternum and left side of my chest, I thought it was costochonditis which the gp confirmed. Im really sore at the moment as she was prodding and poking me. I can't take anti inflammatories so I may just put up with it till it passes . As always one problem improves and another starts LOL. I had some more bloods taken and she is going to phone me Friday with the results. I need a big mug of tea now as im wrecked . πŸ™„πŸŒΈπŸŒΈπŸŒΈπŸŒΈ

Hi WV,

glad the shots helped one problem at least. :) Can you take Tylenol arthritis medication?

Do you mean paracetamol? I take it 4 times a day but doesn't make a big difference, heat is a bit of a help , getting prodded and poked - not good!! I have emergency tramadol but really don't like it as it makes me feel odd !

I don't blame you for hating to take tramadol. maybe you've become too used to paracetamol? Is there something else they could change it to?

I have tried voltarol gel and it has helped , i can cope with small doses of this rather than the tablets . I hope it settles soon as ive had it for quite a while now .

Hi weathervane

Great that the injections are working but sorry you have another painful problem instead!. That has happened to me a lot as if your painful back overshadowed everything else!. Can be very demoralising!. I do hope the chostochronditis settles soon, very painful!. Have you taken Amitriptyline?. Good luck for your blood results. It's good your being monitored. Keep us posted. X

Thanks misty, I think the costochonditis has eased a wee bit , i think i had been rubbing where the pain was and maybe made it a bit worse , anti inflammatory gel also helping . I take lyrica, whether that makes a difference, I don't know ?? How are you keeping at the moment?
