Waiting for Diagnosis

Hi all I posted a photo of my potential malar rash the other day. Thanks for all your replies. This is a photo of the back / base of my scalp. I've had this scaly scabby rash for over 15 years. A consultant dermatologist looked at it years ago and had no idea what it was. What are your thoughts? I'm due to see a Rheumy in November.

I have no idea, but I wouldn't wait til Nov. I'd see my GP. X

The white plaques look like psoriasis or seborr

hic dermatitis.. have you tried the shampoos for that? A biopsy might help determine what is going on.

I have similar and have had 3 different diagnoses by dermatologists and rheumatologists. From Lichens Planus to discoid lupus and now psoriasis. All are auto immune in origin and at least that is in common. Steroid cream helps - Elecon - which is a script and strong but as it's to be used sparingly as soon as I stop it's back. Google some of the shampoos that can help until you see the Dr. E.g. Neutrogena but the Dr will prescribe something like clobex. The coal tar shampoos help the itch. They don't seem to biopsy here in Australia.
