Anyone have experience with this problem and if so, what helped?

Biceps tendonitis
I think that I may have this as a result of impingement- I get pain in my shoulder and down the biceps muscle if I over extend or raise my arm in a backward direction (putting it in my jacket or reaching for the seat belt etc)....and also sometimes wake with pain if lying on that shoulder.
My rheumatologist offered a steroid injection but I asked him to refer me to physio first in the hope that I can fix it without drugs!
I saw a Bowen therapist last week, and whilst he helped straighten me out a lot and release tight muscles - it did not help at all with this issue.
I hope you find something that works soon x
Hi. I've been dealing with an impingement for over a year now but didn't want to go down the steroid injection & surgery route. I went for private physio with a local hospital that specialise in arthritis and similar problems and she picked up that my shoulder rotates forward and the muscles in my shoulder blade are weak on that side so arent pulling it into place properly causing the impingement. She very much agreed with me that actually fixing all the various problems I have was unrealistic but she could help to a point that I can live with. With this in mind she gave me exercises to strengthen the shoulder blade area which helped pull things back in place enough that the pain reduced to a level I can cope with. It hasn't fixed the problem and my arm is still weaker on that side but it's manageable and has at least delayed the need for intervention which is likely to eventually cause arthritis in that area so that was a good enough trade off for me at the moment. Might be worth finding a physio who can do similar? Good luck and hope you get some relief soon xx
I have biceps tendinitis. I find ART really helps - active release technique. I also ice a ton, that helps tremendously.
Hang in there! ❤️
I have this and am under the pain team physio who has given me some good excersise a. I find if I have a flare diazepam also really helps as my muscles go into spasm and the pain just worsens until I can get on top of it.
