Overlap?

Hi,

I have RA, osteo, fibromyalgia and Hughes but when the consultant writes on blood test slips, he also writes MCTD. But a junior dr then said I had overlap syndrome with SLE. I looked that up but got even more confused with what it could be an overlap of. Any suggestions?

Hi ,

please do not bother yourself by knowing the exact name of the disease as all autoimmune disease has overlap , that means if u have one systemic autoimmune disease u probably have high risk developping other one or one of symptomes of other one .

MCTD includes many disease one of is SLE (so it is not a big deal for me to know now which one exactly )

as i have same issue exactly and till now many many doctors are confused am i SLE with Sjogren or MCTD (7 years trying to know the accurate diagnosis and didnt) , but the end result same treatment , and nearly same symptomes

I agree with Samaka however my dx is SLE/UCTD and means that my Docs are open minded to anything happening at any time.
