Raising awareness for Lupus
Hi Kevin53, I used to ignore having Lupus cos it didn't affect my lifestyle. I've been seriously ill with it for last 5 yrs & it's triggered 9 other conditions,
Sharing awareness of autoimmune conditions is important so that people know what they are, how they can affect daily life & the importance of work, life, mind, body, spirit balance as one affects the other.
On May 14th, God willing I will be getting involved with my 1st Lupus Awareness event - a lunch for members, family, friends & supporters which is being organised by my Lupus Support Grouo in London.
Let's continue to create awareness for all. Knowledge is power so let's empower ourselves
I have Lupus..I didn't get any symptoms until 5 years ago triggered by a tragedy in my life.my more serious symptom is the inflammation and sores in my mouth.any suggestions?
Hi Referalgirl, I don't have any suggestions of treatment for the inflammation & sores in your mouth. Have you told your Rheumy or GP? What did they recommend, I suggest that you write a post about it for advice fr members, I'd be interested to learn more. Best wishes to you x
Hi Referalgirl , we wrote this article a few years ago and compiled tips for coping with mouth ulcers from lots of people with lupus. I hope you find it helpful. healthunlocked.com/lupusuk/...
Hello. Raising awareness is really important. I had never heard of lupus until my husband told me he thought I had it. I now wear my purple Lupus UK wrist band every day and openly talk to people about at work and with my friends etc. Three close friends have run marathons and half marathons to raise funds and awareness too. I don't want sympathy. I just want to raise awareness. I will be taking a cake and the Lupus UK raffle tickets to work next week for World Lupus Day (hope I got that title right!?!) Let's hope it helps someone get a quicker diagnosis etc.
Hi magSLE . Have a great lunch next week. Thank you for being so active on the awareness journey.
