Just want to say thank you for all the great advice and support that you gave me regarding my Rheumatology consultation.
It was by far the most relaxed appointment that I have ever experienced to date. The specialist basically listened, questioned and noted. I did not feel "on the defence" or for that matter "on the attack" he took blood and urine and told me he would delve into my history. He thought that my symptoms were pointing towards connective tissue.
My next appointment is in January hopefully to discuss the results.
Take care,

So glad you were listened to, makes all the difference.
Sounds as if he is going to give it a lot of thought for your next appointment.
You will be so relieved to have seen him , hopefully a good outcome, and a plan put in place to help you get better treatment and more control over your life at last!
Cuttysark absolutely it was a huge relief, I really dreaded this appointment!
When I sat down in front of the consultant I just thought o.k what are you doing this for? Why are you subjecting yourself for more humiliation? and the honest answer is my children. I see traits in both of them that I have, my daughter already has seen a rhheumatologist who wants to "keep an eye on her." It was mentioned that she may have a connective tissue disorder and that it may be "grumbling."
Looking back my symptoms started in my teens as well. I do not want my children to have the same struggles that I have had.
Yes Babssara I thought long and hard before making this appointment as my past experiences with some consultants have to say the least not been the best!!!
