I don't know if Naproxen is available over counter but It's important to take another med with them to support digestion. I ended up with Gastroenteritis, which may have been linked to Naproxen intake. Have you spoken to your GP?

You can but such a low dose I dont think it would help. Your GP is the only one you can get them from sorry.

Motrin is the ibuprofen of choice. My husband's doctor prescribed him taking 3 at a time for back pain.

In the U.S., it is available OTC. The product names are Aleve, Pamprin All Day and Midol Extended Relief. These three contain 220mg of naproxen sodium (which is 200mg of naproxen) per dosage.

Prescription formulas vary in the amount of naproxen sodium but generally contain either 220, 275 or 550mg per pill). For example, I take generic naproxen sodium (prescribed) and one pill/dose contains 550mg (which is 500mg of naproxen).

I found this:

"Aleve is a non-prescription medication that is available over-the-counter and is indicated for the temporary relief of minor pain and inflammation. Anaprox is a prescription drug indicated for relief of chronic pain and inflammation. Anaprox is the same formulation as Aleve, but in a prescription-strength version of the drug. Anaprox is the same formulation as Naprosyn, but in a fast-acting version of the drug. Both medications are NSAIDs that treat pain associated with menstruation. Naprosyn is manufactured by Roche Pharmaceuticals. Aleve is manufactured by Bayer Healthcare, previously Roche Pharmaceuticals."

I have found the prescription that I take to be more cost effective than the OTC brands especially since I'd have to take 2.5 pills of the OTC brands to equal one of my script pills. But, to answer your question, yes, OTC versions exist - you would just have to take more depending upon the dose you are seeking.
