Hi there, I am new to the site and have been diagnosed with a few autoimmune disorders for about a year and a half ( RA, Raynauds, Sjogrens, fibro) I have just been tested for lupus again, and this time my bloods are different than previous ones. I only have an ANA titre of 1:80 but my pattern is homogoneus... My C4 is low but my C3 is normal? Would this be considered negative for lupus? I have to wait until 22nd December to get verdict from my consultant! Just wondered if any one new about the homogenous pattern being normal or not? Obviously not expecting a diagnosis here! Just people's thoughts or experiences

It isn't the pattern so much as the titre. 1:80 is very low for lupus, although coupled with a low complement might make your rheumatologist want to do more specific autoantibodies testing to be sure.
Thank you, that is kind of what is was thinking! I know the titre is low, but I couldn't find any info on the homogenous pattern except it was indicative of lupus!!! But what is a normal blood pattern I wonder??! X
Homogenous is indicative of lupus but at the low titre I doubt you will go on and develop it. Having other autoimmune diseases does make you more prone to developing lupus but not everyone does, so don't panic just yet.

Hi sparkle247,
I'm not able to comment about your results because I'm not medically trained, but if you would like some more information about lupus and how it is diagnosed I would be happy to send you one of our free packs? Just send me a private message or email paul@lupusuk.org.uk with your name and address.
