Does anyone get meds for hair loss due to the med... - LUPUS UK
Does anyone get meds for hair loss due to the meds like regaine I would think some ladies will but docs tend not to with blokes I think
Hi I have lost my hair three times - I have had lupus for nearly twenty years, I have never found anything particularly helpful so have just worn bandanas and relied on patience and my sense of humour to get me through. I do however tend to look at the positives now after being almost totally bald this last time for a good few years....it saves a fortune on hairdressing, my hair does not get messed up under my crash helmet and I am the quickest one getting ready to go out so take the opportunity to have a sit down. I found that the wigs on offer were uncomfortable and looked awful so opted for bandanas, being a biker this is most comfortable for me too. Regaine is very expensive and I have heard it works for some but I have problem skin on my scalp so don't use it.
Be patient as each time my hair has come back I have had a lovely head of hair and each time it has been different, I have had dark brown hair, chestnut and been a blonde without having to use dye. The few tufts I have showing now are white so it may be a different story now.
All the best and I hope that you find something that works for you, when you do start getting regrowth however there is a good shampoo on the internet called "Thick and Fuller" which I use and that helps to give me a good thick full head of hair once it starts growing again.
Good luck
