I did, some years ago now! Could not take HRT it gave me migraines. I have Sjogren's as well as SLE so tend to be very dry internally. I have always found my pharmacist to be very good at alerting me any problems with combinations of drugs. Mine will do a prescription review in a private chat too. You can end up taking so many drugs it can get complicated! good luck

Progesterone cream made me very very ill. It converts to oestrogen in the body (I have read) and as oestrogen is implicated in lupus flares ( hence the worsening symptoms approaching periods), I would say you would be ill advised.

However - as Saranne has said it did her good, I can only suggest you suck it and see. Personally I would run a mile - but we are all different.

Well considering that it is ok 4 us 2 take the mini pill contraceptive (which is progestogen only) I would've thought so but then again, I'm 34 & haven't reached that stage yet BUT I've taken the mini-pill 4 years & so far so good :)

Don't know the difference between Progesterone and Oestrogen creams!

My Lupus was diagnosed 17 years ago and it was affected by my menstrual cycle. I had an early menopause 10 years ago (after chemo) and discovered the menopause can provide it's own problems. I have been using eostrogen cream to counteract effects and it has at times aggravated my lupus, however I worry about my GP stopping it's use because it has helped me cope with physical changes that have brought pain. Remember you can try the cream and stop using it at any time. The doctors say the OESTOGEN cream is localised and should not affect Lupus but we all know our bodies better than they do.

Hope this helps you make an informed choice.
